The Marshall Project has tracked each execution in America since the year 2015. Through analysis of this data, much can be learned about the criminal justice system and its procedures. One truth revealed through this data, is the fact that an initially set death date is often changed, and “many of those awaiting execution find the day scheduled and rescheduled.” Since the summer of 2015, an execution has taken place every two and a half weeks, on average.
