3 Standard Field Sobriety Tests
On behalf of J. Kippa Law, LLC | December 2, 2020
The three standard field sobriety tests conducted during a traffic stop include the horizontal gaze nystagmus, the walk and turn and the one-leg stand. According to research, these tests are not always accurate. It has been found that the horizontal gaze nystagmus is 77 percent accurate, the walk and turn is 68 percent accurate and the one-leg stand is 65 percent accurate. In all, these three tests are typically only correct 82 percent of the time.
